Making GS 3 Internal Security notes
GS 3 is wide, its sources are scattered, and it carries the most current affairs and data. This video makes notes on cyber security and cyber crime: picking topics by how often UPSC asks them, finding each question's dimensions in Learn to Write, adding introductions, data and diagrams from topper answers, and adding current affairs from CA Tracker Pro.

Steps
- Open GS 3 and go to Syllabus. Internal security is the last five points. Open the PYQs under each to see what UPSC asks most: left-wing extremism has come up six times, cyber security seven.
- Sort the PYQs by similarity and go from the oldest to the newest. Read only the framework in each one's Learn to Write, and jot down the dimensions it covers: what cyber warfare is, why it is dangerous, the legal framework and its gaps, the types of cyber crime.
- Go back through the questions in Learn to Write. Pick an introduction, such as cyberspace as the fifth domain of warfare, and copy data along with its source, such as NCRB or the Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Open Topper questions to see how toppers lay out a page. Filter by Has diagram, with Hide visited on, to find diagrams you have not seen. A screenshot of a diagram is saved to My Notes with a caption, the topper's name and the page.
- Select any line in Learn to Write or a topper answer and save it to GS 3. Everything you highlight or capture shows up in My Notes.
- Open CA Tracker Pro, choose Internal security and the topics Cyber crime and Cyber security, and turn on Must Read if you are short of time. Read each article's key takeaways and value additions, see which Mains PYQ it links to, and save the useful ones to GS 3.
